About the event
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Tash Walker and Adam Zmith, the acclaimed co‑authors of The Log Books: Voices of Queer Britain and the Helpline that Listened, for an unforgettable evening of conversation, storytelling, and LGBTQ+ history brought vividly to life.
Inspired by the award‑winning podcast of the same name, The Log Books dives into four decades of queer life in the UK, uncovered through the handwritten notes kept by volunteers at Switchboard, the iconic LGBTQ+ helpline established in 1974. These powerful, intimate records capture everything from moments of fear and isolation to joy, curiosity, and the undeniable strength of community.
Join us as Tash and Adam share the extraordinary journey behind discovering these forgotten logs, the people and stories that shaped the book, and the personal impact of uncovering a past that was often hidden from them in their own youth. Expect an evening filled with humanity, humour, heartfelt…
