Hearts are made to be broken,” wrote Oscar Wilde in De Profundis, the letter he composed in Reading Gaol and sent to his boyfriend, Alfred Douglas. But while that famous love story didn’t end well, some LGBTQ+ couples from history have happy endings… and some very much don’t.
